Lincoln resident Scott D. McElfresh, 53, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015, at his home in Lincoln, NE. Memorial services were 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the Federated Church in Sutton, NE, with Rev. Harry Cross officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. No visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Federated Church in Sutton, NE. Condolences may be left at Scott Douglas McElfresh was born Nov. 14, 1961, in Henderson, NE, to Donald and Joann (Franklin) McElfresh. He graduated from Sutton High School in 1980 and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. As a young person, Scott was known for his fun personality, pranks and sense of humor. He was employed by Carol Wright and Bison, Inc. Sports Equipment of Lincoln, NE, and lived his entire adult life in Lincoln. He was baptized and confirmed in the Federated Church. Hobbies and interests included hunting, fishing and as a teenager, he competed in 4-H and Saddle Club horse shows at the local and state level. At the state 4-H horse show, he won pole bending one year and placed second one year. He is loved and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his parents; Don and Joann McElfresh of Sutton, NE; brother; Ron and wife, Kim McElfresh of Sutton, NE; sister, Mary (McElfresh) Hultman of Grand Island, NE; niece; Megan McElfresh of Lincoln, NE; nephew; Matthew McElfresh of Lincoln, NE; and nephews, Jeremy Hultman and Justin Hultman both of Sutton, NE. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, uncles and one aunt.
