Why I Relay?

“I Relay for the 19 years I have been cancer free...for all the patients and families that I have taken care of that have had cancer...because my grandma died of lung cancer... to hopefully help in finding a cure one day...because of friends and family...for myself to get the courage and strength to keep going further...for the many family members who have died from cancer...for my mother-in-law, who passed away from ovarian cancer and my brother, who passed away from lung cancer...because no child should ever have to watch their parent die of lung cancer...because of my grandma and other family members and friends who have been diagnosed with cancer...because I have lost a lot of my family to cancer and I just want to be there for others and there’s no better way than to Relay.”

There are many reasons why people Relay—these are some of the ones the Relay For Life of Clay County Event Leadership Team members continue to do what they do each year.
