Sutton bounces back Sunday

Eight walks, combined with three timely hits and aggressive base running, would be lethal combinations during Sunday afternoon’s loser’s bracket battle with St. Paul, during the Class C state junior legion baseball tournament in St. Paul.

Sutton gained two of their three hits in a two run first inning, with Dusty Stone and James Griess rattling the St. Paul pitching. Stone gained a lead off single and eventually scored on a St. Paul error. Griess used a deep double, which bounced off the left field fence, to lead the Sutton catcher to the second run of the first frame.
