At the 144th annual Nebraska Press Association Convention April 20 and 21, the Clay County News earned 11 awards, including three first places, one second place, and six third places.

First place: Jordyn Hulinsky, Sports Page; Karla Fehr, Creative Ad Writing; and Ashley D. Swanson, Feature Series.

Second place: Hulinsky, Sports Column.

Third place: Tory Duncan, Advertising Campaign and Sports Feature Photo; Swanson, Use of Computer Graphics and Feature Photography; and Duncan, Hulinsky, and Swanson, Editorial and Photo Page. The same trio also placed third with a photo page featuring the Great American Eclipse.
