On Tuesday, June 12, Aubrey C. Trail, 51, and Bailey M. Boswell, 24, were charged in Saline County Court with First Degree Murder (Class I or Class IA Felony) and Improper Disposal of Human Skeletal Remains (Class IV Felony) in the death of 24-year-old Sydney Loofe.

Court records released by authorities Tuesday morning stated that on or about Nov. 15 and/or Nov. 16, 2017, Trail strangled Loofe to death with an extension cord. An autopsy performed on Dec. 7, 2017, showed “the cause of death is homicidal violence including strangulation.” With the help of Boswell, he then dismembered Loofe’s body and disposed of her in rural Clay County.
