Sept. 25, 1929 - July 2, 2018

Elaine R. Naggatz, of Hastings, the daughter of Klaus and Frieda (Peters) Hinrichs, was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Glenvil. She departed this life on Monday, July 2, 2018, at Heritage Crossing at Geneva, at the age of 88 years, nine months and seven days. Elaine was united in marriage to Louis Naggatz on June 20, 1948. The couple farmed in the Edgar, area until his retirement. Elaine was a lifetime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Glenvil and a devout Lutheran attending church each Sunday. She participated in her church circle and Bible study. Elaine and Louis enjoyed traveling together. Elaine especially appreciated friends in her Luther League group that continued for over 50 years. Elaine treasured all of her extension club (MNO, Mother’s Night Out) members and activities including the blood mobile. Elaine always looked forward to spending time with her five grandchildren and attending their ball games, programs and activities. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Louis, and brothers, Larry and Rodney (Toby) Hinrichs. Survivors include her daughters: Marcia VomWeg and husband, Wayne of Hastings; Patrice Hoffman and husband, Rick of Edgar; sister-in-law, Barbara Hinrichs of Hastings; grandchildren: Heather VomWeg of Hastings; Corey VomWeg of Hastings; Melissa Stithem and husband, Andrew of Lincoln, and their children: Camryn and Emersyn; Blake Hoffman and wife, Sheila of Belleville, KS, and their children: Jayce and Brynlee; and Derek Hoffman of Lincoln; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Glenvil. Burial was at the Glenvil Cemetery, with Pastors Rob Garton and Carla Gunn officiating. Memorials directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Edgar Fire and Rescue Department. Williams Funeral Home of Edgar, was in charge of the arrangements.
