Barbara Jean Gavin-Lewellyn died Aug. 15, at age 65. Barbara was a proud mother, a poet, raconteur, baker of pies, fryer of chicken and shameless supplier of sweets to her grandson. An animal lover, she had eight birds and a dog, Harley. She was also an ardent atheist who had a lot to say about a lot of things. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brothers, Charles (Dee) Gavin of Kansas City, KS; Michael (Tiziana) Gavin of Normanville, South Australia; and James (Renee) Gavin of Clay Center; her children, Daryn Lewellyn of Edgerton, Kerryn (Gregg) Lewellyn-Happ of Waunakee; grandson, Gabe Francis and nephews, Greg Gavin of Madison and Matt Gavin of Lee’s Summit, MO. A celebration of life was held from 3-5 p.m., at 333 Dayton St.in Madison. Donations in her memory may be made to Feathered Friends Sanctuary & Rescue.
