Saronville resident Edward F. Becker, Jr., 90, passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton, NE. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sutton, with Vicar Tim Stacy officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Saron Lutheran Cemetery near Saronville. In honoring his wish to be cremated there will be no visitation or viewing. Fred was born Nov. 30, 1927, to Edward and Melita (Griess) Becker at his home, on a farm near Verona. He married Regena L’Heureux on Jan. 28, 1950, they were married for 63 years. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sutton. Fred is survived by his daughters, Rita Hall of Ashland; Joan Kissinger of Hastings; Norma and husband, Robert Boettcher of Sutton; Wendy and husband, Gordon Corey of Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Scott Kissinger; Jessica Noha; Samantha Hall; Robert G. Boettcher; MacGyver Corey; Matthew Boettcher; Alan Corey; five great-grandchildren, Chelsie and Morgan Minnerly; Wyatt Friesen; Jaxon Noha; Oaklee Boettcher; and brother-in-law, Jerome and wife, Judy Carlson. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Regena.
