Fairfield resident Charlene G. Hessling, 70, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, at her home.

Memorial services will be at a later date in Michigan. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date c/o Gary Stratton, 708 West Fourth St., Fairfield, NE 68938. There will be no viewing or visitation. Charlene was born Oct. 29, 1947, in Grand Rapids, MI, to Charles Hardy and Wilma J. Berry. She graduated from Godwin Heights High School in Wyoming, MI, and received an associates degree in accounting from Grand Rapids Junior College in Grand Rapids, MI. Charlene was a homemaker and member of Church of Latter Day Saints in Hastings.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Douglas Parmeter Sr.; brother, Clifford Parmeter; infant sibling; niece, Amanda VanOostendorp; and son-in-law, Kevin Samway. Survivors: son: Gary Stratton of Fairfield.

Daughters and spouse: Rebecca Stratton and Donovan Tetzloff of Indiana; Kristine Stratton of Grand Island; Jamie and Roger Davis of Arizona.

Step-daughter and spouse: Rhonda and Gene Harlan of Indiana. Grandchildren: 16. Great-grandson: one. Sisters: Karen VanOostendorp of Michigan; Sandra Crabb of Michigan.

Brothers and spouses: Douglas Jr. and Chung Parmeter of Michigan; William and Betty Pappe of Indiana. Several nieces and nephews.
