James A. Randall, 84, of Harvard, died Saturday, Oct. 27, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 31, at 10:30 a.m., at the United Church of Christ in Harvard, with Rev. Dave Johnson officiating. Visitation was Tuesday at Harvard United Church of Christ from 4-8 p.m., with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be at the Harvard Cemetery with military rites at the graveside. Memorials may be given to Harvard United Church of Christ. Arrangements are with Murray Wilson Funeral Directing of Hastings. Jim was born March 30, 1934, in Harvard, to Foss and Helen Farrall Randall. He graduated from Harvard High School in 1952. Following graduation, Jim attended Grand Island Business College. He became manager of the Clay County ASCS Office, retiring after 37 years. On April 15, 1956, he was united in marriage to Anita Yost. They enjoyed 62 years together. He served two years in the U.S Army. Jim was an active member of the Harvard United Church of Christ serving on different committees and a Cub Scout Leader. Golfing was his favorite hobby. He also enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling and working in the yard and garden. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with family, especially grandkids and great grandkids. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Anita Randall of Harvard; daughter, Nicole Randall of Beatrice and fiancé Tony Nuss of Sutton; son, Michael Randall and friend, Hazel Stafford of Harvard; and sister, Kay Brumond (Harold) of Clay Center. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mildred Rutledge and her husband, William; brother, Richard Randall and his wife, Bessie; sister, Karen Randall and granddaughter Audrey. He will be greatly missed.
