Clay County departments give back

Several members from each of the Clay County Fire and Rescue Departments came together, with the help of county citizens, to purchase and deliver much-needed items to fellow first responders in the state, following the historic flooding recently. The group headed to Lynch on Thursday, March 21, and also donated items to Niobrara and Wakefield.

When the historic flood and blizzard hit Nebraska, leaving behind hundreds of miles of devastation, first responders and volunteers stepped up to help out. Departments in Clay County wanted to help out also, prompting a meeting between the fire chiefs, assistant chiefs, and EMS captains from Clay Center, Edgar, Fairfield, Glenvil,
