Nebraska’s Sandhills region has always been an ultimate favorite of mine since I was a youngster, so many years ago that I refuse to count.
This past week I had the luxury of “getting lost” in the hills for a few days.
In all, during my four day tour of Western Nebraska, I passed through some 50 towns of all sizes, from Mason City, Berwyn, Dunning to Mullen. From Hyannis to Arthur, Keystone to Roscoe and Ogallala. From Paxton to Sutherland and Wallace, along with Hayes Center to Culbertson, McCook and Indianola, Atlanta and Funk, you name it. My almost 1,000-mile trip over the last four days of the week, was truly a getway, along the untraveled roads of the Nebraska Sandhills and Southwest Nebraska.
