Bernice Lucille Anderson was born on Jan. 2, 1925, to William and Augusta (Ahrens) Koch at the family farm north of Deshler. She passed away at Heritage Crossings in Geneva on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, at the age of 97 years, 8 months and 23 days.

Sutton resident Duane Mau, 80, passed away peacefully Monday, Sep. 26, 2022, surrounded by his family at Bergen Mercy Hospital in Omaha, after a lengthy hospitalization.

Former Sutton resident Rose Cecelia Cloet, 91, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, at Aviva Woodlands Senior Living in Lincoln.

A Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sutton. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m., at the church, with Father Doug Daro officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Sutton. Visitation will be Thursday, from 9 a.m., until the Rosary at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sutton. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church Altar Society or the Madonna Foundation.

Erwin Lloyd Nelson, 94, passed to his rest Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at his home near Chattanooga, TN. Erwin was born on the Nelson family farm near Shickley, NE. He was the third generation of the family to work that farm which was owned by the Nelson family for 111 years. Erwin married Evelyn Shearer in 1948. To this marriage, three children were born: Cliff, Elaine, and Sheryl. After Evelyn’s untimely death, he married Marjorie Brown. To this marriage, two children were born: Connie and Kenny. After Erwin retired, he and Marjorie moved to Harrison, TN to live with their daughter, Sheryl, and her husband, Jon.

Erwin was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Vera Nelson; his wives, Evelyn and Marjorie; one sister, and three brothers.

He is survived by his five children, 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Harvard resident Jane A. Lockling, 59, entered into eternal rest Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, at Bryan Medical Center East Campus in Lincoln. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at the Clay Center Christian Church in Clay Center, with Pastor Arick Johanson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery near Trumbull. Visitation with the family present will be Friday, from 4 p.m –7 p.m., at the Clay Center Christian Church in Clay Center. Jane was born Oct. 27, 1962, in Guthrie Center, IA to Thurlow and Donna (McCurdy) Foresman. She received her education at Guthrie Center High School. On Nov. 1, 1980, she married Ken Lockling. To this union, five daughters were born.

Hastings resident Dorothy C. Wilson, 93, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at College View Assisted Living, Hastings. Services were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, at Trumbull United Methodist Church, with Pastor Kelly Karges officiating. Burial was at at Greenwood Cemetery in Trumbull. Memorials may be given to Trumbull Community Center. The service was live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Sutton resident Duane Mau passed away Monday, Sept.

26, surrounded by family at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, after a lengthy hospitalization.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; children, Todd (Shelly), Brent (Gwenda), Chad (Lori), Lynn (Corey) Jasoch; eight gradchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Sutton resident Vera Reichert, 104, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at Hillcrest View Assisted Living in Sutton. Interment will be at 9: 30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at the Sutton Cemetery. Memorial services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Sat., October 1, 2022, at Hope Reformed Church in Sutton, with Rev. Scott Henry officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 1-8 p.m., with the family present from 5-7 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton.

Sutton resident Rolly Ray Kastens, 86, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at Legacy Square in Henderson.

A rosary was prayed at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sutton. Mass of Christian Burial followed at 2 p.m., at the church, with Father Doug Daro officiating. Interment took place at Calvary Cemetery in Sutton.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sutton or the American Legion Argonne Post #61 Josie Kastens Scholarship Fund.

Condolences may be left at www.suttonmemorial.com. Rolly was born Jan. 7, 1936, in Unadilla, to Clarence and Lenora (Sewell) Kastens. He grew up in Unadilla and received his education from Unadilla High School.

Rolly was a staff sergeant in the Air Force from 19541958 and during that time, he flew from Guam to Korea assisting fighter pilots.
