Mustangs Head to Omaha in Seven Events

Junior Garrett Clark and two huge performances in the 3,200 and 1,600 meter relays would headline the day for the Sutton boys track team May 14, as they battled one of the stingiest Class C boys districts in the state at Thayer Central High School in Hebron. Clark was solid gold in both the discus and shot put to advance to state in both. The tworelays, although the Mustangs were third in the 3,200 meter relay and second in the 1,600 meter relay, would both put up gutsy performances in each event. Clark Wins Throwing Events

Relay Record Shattered at Harvard

As the old story goes, when you put your mind to something, you can achieve goals with hard work, sheer guts and a not-to-be-denied attitude. Thursday, that is exactly what took place, as the Harvard girls track team headed to Sandy Creek High School for the C-9 District track and field meet. As the track portion of the meet kicked off, the Harvard girls 3,200 meter relay team, made up by Carleigh Novak, Kesley Griess, Cassie Roberts and Alyssa Novak, according to coach Scott Trimble, had the moxie to advance to the state track and field championships. They all new it would take a special effort to knock off, what many thought  to be the favorites, either Hastings St. Cecilia or Doniphan-Trumbull.
