No. 3 Sutton blisters Falcons for 483 total yards Friday to improve to 3-0

Soggy field conditions, following a week of rain and cool temperatures may have slowed the Sutton Mustangs offense for the first quarter Friday night. Although, once the Mustangs gained traction, Sutton used a potent rushing attack and a stingy defensive effort to outscore the visiting Freeman Falcons 40-0 in the final three quarters of play. The Mustangs improve to 3-0 with the 40-point win at the final horn.

Despite the slow paced opening quarter for both teams, it would be the passing game that would help put the first points on the scoreboard for Sutton, as junior quarterback Jackson Perrien hit a wide-open senior James Griess on a 60-yard touchdown pass, at the 9 minute, 24 second mark of the second quarter, to lift Sutton to a 6-0 lead, following a missed twopoint conversion try.
