With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Harvard resident Brianna Nicole Wells, 15, Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings. She left this world too soon as a result of an automobile accident.
Brianna was born Feb. 21, 2010, in Hastings, to Steven Wells and Carly Shepherd. A bright and spirited young woman, Brianna was a sophomore at Harvard High School, where she was known for her vibrant personality, dedication, and kind heart. Brianna poured her energy and enthusiasm into everything she did. She was a proud member of the show choir and a talented athlete, participating in volleyball, basketball, and track. Whether she was performing on stage or competing on the court, Brianna brought joy, strength, and determination that inspired those around her. She will be remembered most for her radiant smile, her unwavering friendship, and the love she gave so freely to her family, friends, teammates, and classmates. Her presence brought warmth and light, and her absence leaves an indescribable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Brianna was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Patricia Dasher and great-grandfather, Marvin L. Uden.
Survivors include: mother, Carly Shepherd; father, Steven Wells; siblings, Isaac Shepherd, Jose Shepherd, Jahsiah Sanford, Kara Wells, Stephanie Dominique, and Steven Gregory; grandparents, Marvin and Barb Uden, and Nobalee Nelson; aunts and uncles: Erin Shepherd, Samantha and Sam Beale, Tes Nelson, Amanda Nelson, Trevor Nutter, Austin Uden, and Dakota Downing; cousins: Tobias Shepherd, Devyn Shepherd, Andre Nutter, Kylian Anderson, Trae’Vion Nelson, Zy’Reece Nelson, Gracie Beale, Rex Beale, Mailynne Beale; and numerous other extended family and friends.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, at First United Methodist Church of Harvard, with Pastor Dan Albers officiating. Burial will be at Harvard Cemetery in Harvard. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., with the family present 5-7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10, at First United Methodist Church in Harvard, and one hour before the service at church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website.
