Victoria “Vicki” L. Northrop, 66, of York passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Vicki was born Oct. 26, 1959, in Omaha to Charles “Tommy” H. and Adaire (King) Toms. On April 18, 1980, she was united in marriage to Mick Northrop in York. She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church in York. Vicki dedicated most of her life to education and service. She taught secondary school in Hastings for 21 years and later taught at St. Joseph Catholic School in York for three years. She was a dedicated higher education leader who loved teaching new teachers. Throughout her life, she was deeply involved in her community. She was a member of the Eagle’s Club Women’s Auxiliary, the York Elks Lodge, and Jobs Daughters of America. Her commitment to community leadership included serving on the York City Council, participating in Leadership York, and mentoring through the Teammates program. Time with family was the greatest blessing in her life, and she held those moments close to her heart.

She is survived by her husband, Mick, of York; four sons: Ben Northrop of York, Phil Northrop (fiancé, Savanna Lauby) of York, Jamey (Shanda) Northrop of Blue Springs, MO, and Caleb Northrop of New York City, NY; three grandchildren: Silas, Katelynn, and Lauryn, siblings: Cindi (Steve) Nickel of York, Kristi (Marc) Felix of Lincoln, Tommy (Dee) Toms of Ayr, and Cathy Davis of Lincoln; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-inlaw, Dale.

Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the First Presbyterian Church in York with Pastor Penny Schultz officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery in York.
