Condolences may be left at www. suttonmemorial.com Larry was born Feb. 9, 1950, in St. Francis, KS. He was the firstborn son of Willard and Maxine Moore. He grew up in Bird City, KS, was a Boy Scout, and graduated from Bird City High School in 1968. Upon graduation, Larry attended North Central Kansas Tech College in Beloit, KS, where he studied cattle production and agriculture.

In 1971, during his time in Beloit, Larry met and married Elizabeth (Wallace) Moore and moved to Clay Center. They eventually made Sutton their home and had four children, Christopher, Audrey, Jelynda, and Leah. While in Nebraska, Larry worked for the Research Center and became the station manager of Sutton Co-op. Larry met many lifelong friends and became a volunteer fireman for the Sutton community.

Through life’s twists and turns, Larry relocated to Goodland, KS, and began working for Century Feeders and living out the cowboy lifestyle he felt called towards. Upon his retirement, Larry chose to go back to eastern Kansas, often saying it was the most beautiful place on Earth, closer to his children, with many fishing holes and offering loads of birds to watch. Larry’s home quickly became known as Mankato Cove, a place his grandchildren loved to go. Larry spent much of his retirement making new friends, encouraging grandchildren at their events, fishing, gardening, watching birds, and chasing draft horse competitions as far as Shipshewana, IN.

Larry is survived by his four children, Christopher (Jessica) Moore, Audrey Peterworth, Jelynda (Tony) Anderson, all of Sutton, and Leah (Darrel) Dutro of Overton; as well as Elizabeth Moore, of Lexington, his wife of 17 years, who remained his best friend through it all; his brother, Gary (Mary) Moore of Bird City, KS, and sister, Sondra (Scott) Phillips of Longmont, CO; numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends; seven grandchildren, Laurel and Travis Moore, Braden and Macey Peterworth, Austin (Sydney) and Jackson Anderson, and Mason Dutro; one great-granddaughter, Saige Anderson.

Larry was welcomed home and preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Maxine Moore, his first grandson, Craig Paul Dutro, and an infant nephew and niece, Clinton and Nia Moore.
