Judith M. DeBord (Judy) 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, at Mary Lanning HealthCare in Hastings.

Her interment with graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. in the Glenvil Cemetery. A Celebration of Life and Luncheon will immediately follow the cemetery service at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Sanctuary in Glenvil.

Condolences may be left at www.dewittfuneral.com Judy was born Aug. 28, 1940, in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to James and Dora Pearcy. She attended boarding school in West Vancouver before moving with her family to San Juan Capistrano, CA, at the age of 13. She graduated from San Juan Capistrano High School with the class of 1957. On July 5, 1958, she was united in marriage to Jim DeBord. Together, they shared 68 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and countless cherished memories.

Judy dedicated 25 years of her career to the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center in Clay Center before retiring. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil.

She embraced life with enthusiasm. Judy enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, reading, needlepoint, Husker sports, and traveling. She especially loved escaping the Midwest winters to Canyon Lake in Texas with their fifthwheel camper, where she spent many happy seasons.

Judy had many talents and was extremely tech-savvy. She was an excellent cook and found great joy in entertaining family and friends - always creating a beautiful dinner table, a tradition and skills she carried with her from her boarding school days. A woman of elegance, style and impeccable etiquette, she loved bringing that same grace and attention to detail to everything she did.

Above all else, Judy was devoted to her family - as they were at the heart of her life. She was a loving wife and mother, and a doting grandmother. Judy created a warm, nurturing home and raised three sons with love, compassion and strength. She was preceded in death by two of her sons, Scott DeBord and Brian DeBord, along with her parents.

Judy is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jim DeBord; son, Ron (Tammy) DeBord; daughter-in-law, Anne DeBord; grandchildren, Nolan (Lisa) DeBord, Cameron DeBord, Peyton DeBord, Shannon Hester (Travis); great-grandchildren, Kipton, Amelia, Anniston, Sawyer, Marlowe, and Kaia; half sister, Sandra Shaw; sister-in-law, Yvonne “Carole” (Elwood) Onken; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

Judy’s legacy lives on through family she treasured, the traditions she created, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
