David J. Maser

David J. Maser, a long time attorney who has been a partner with Sutton firm Bottorf & Maser since 1965, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, after battling lengthy issues, following a fall in late September. Maser, a 1964 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law, was admitted to the Nebraska Bar in 1964 and joined Don A. Bottorf in 1965 in Sutton. Maser served in the military, serving in the Nebraska Air National Guards’ legal section from 1964 through 1970, while practicing with Bottorf in Sutton. Maser was the Clay County Attorney from 1971-74, then added an office to the firm’s business, opening an office in Henderson in 1974. His resume also shares that he served as the city attorney for both Sutton and Harvard and was honored in 2014 as a 50-year member of the Nebraska State Bar Association. Norma J. Finnegan May 24, 1931 - Oct. 25, 2017

Sutton resident, Norma Jeane (Arp) Finnegan, 86, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton. Rosary was held at 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sutton. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 30, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Michael Zimmer officiating. Interment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery in Grafton. Visitation was Sunday, from 1-5 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Legion Auxiliary Argonne Unit #61. Condolences may be left at www.suttonmemorial.com. Norma Jeane (Arp) Finnegan was born May 24, 1931, at Harvard, to Albert and Lillian (Milroy) Arp. She graduated from Grafton High School. She married Joseph Finnegan on June 6, 1950, in Grafton. She was employed with Ted’s OK Tires in Sutton. Norma spent many hours enjoying hobbies such as needlepoint and plastic canvas.
