Sutton resident Delores Lena Mick, 98, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sutton, with Pastor Wayne Oblender officiating. Interment followed at the Sutton Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday, from 1–8 p.m., with the family greeting friends from 5–7 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Sutton Community Home or St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Condolences may be left at www.suttonmemorial.com. Delores was born Sept. 29, 1920, to Anton and Mayme (Everts) Domeier at Grafton. She was baptized on Oct. 24, 1920, at the Lutheran church south of Grafton. She attended rural school and graduated from Geneva High School in 1938. Delores married LeRoy C. Mohnike at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grafton on April 5, 1942. To this union three children were born, Robert, Diane and James. LeRoy died in 1980. Delores married Ervin Mick of Hampton, on June 30, 1989, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Sutton. Ervin died in 1997. Delores was a charter member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Sutton. She played the organ, belonged to the ladies aid and taught Sunday school. Delores worked beside LeRoy on the farm for many years. In later years, she worked as a receptionist for the optometrist, Dr. McBride, in his Sutton office and was a secretary at Kohler Insurance Agency. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards. Delores is survived by her son, James Mohnike and his wife, Jean; daughter-in-law, Judy Mohnike; grandsons, Scott French; Corey (Kari) Mohnike and children, Ella and Bexley of Louisville, CO; Eric (Anna) Mohnike and children Logan, Rachel, Kaitlyn, Haylee and Austin of Norfolk, VA; sister, Florence Schroder of Grand Island; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by husbands, LeRoy Mohnike and Ervin Mick; son, Robert; daughter, Diane; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vern and Zeola Domeier; Dwayne and Betty Domeier; Dean and Deloris Domeier and brother-in-law, Earl Schroder.
