Larry A. Schmer

Lincoln resident Larry A. Schmer, 78, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022, at his home in Lincoln.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2022, at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton with Dan Warnes officiating. The family will greet prior to the service from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the Sutton Cemetery. In honoring his wish to be cremated, there will not be a viewing or visitation.

Larry was born April 15, 1943, in Hastings to Floyd S. and Marjorie M. (Ebert) Schmer. He was baptized and confirmed at the Federated Church in Sutton. He graduated from Sutton High School in 1961. Larry furthered his education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating in 1965. He was employed with Sears, the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and Children’s Hospital in Omaha. He married Ellen Barrett in 1987. Larry was a kind and wonderful man who loved his family and will be missed tremendously.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

His surviving loved ones are his wife Ellen of Lincoln; sons, Scott of Central City; Craig of Omaha; and Eric (Lavina) of Grafton; brother, Stan (Kathy) of Austin, TX; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
