Caleb Michael Ladehoff was born Sept. 1, 2004, in Hastings to Jon and Kristi (Hamer) Ladehoff. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Bryan Medical Center West Campus in Lincoln at the age of 17. Caleb gave his heart to Jesus as a young boy and is now fully restored and in the presence of his Savior.

Caleb grew up in Sutton and was proud to be a Mustang. He was an avid weightlifter and competed in football, basketball, and track and field. He was a member of the Sutton FFA chapter and a member of the youth group at Stockham Community Church.

Caleb was the second of four siblings and many of his favorite memories were made while traveling with his family on summer vacations. “C-dawg” loved spending time outdoors, especially at his grandparents’ farms. He enjoyed fishing, 4-wheeling, and working with cattle. Caleb also enjoyed spending time with his friends and his cousins and will be remembered for his ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him.

Caleb is survived by his parents; siblings, Nathan, Lindsey, and Eli, all of Sutton; grandmother, Lavonne Ladehoff of North Bend; grandparents, Bill and Judy Hamer of Scotia; aunts and uncles, Fred Ladehoff of North Bend; Doug and Jennifer Johnson of Omaha; Brandon and Karmen Hamer of Central City; Cameron and Brenda Hamer of Greenfield, IA; and Tiffani Wymer of Central City; many beloved cousins; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Harlan Ladehoff.

Funeral services were held at the Stockham Community Church on Saturday, May 7, with Pastor Paul Nauman and Pastor Rick Bartek officiating. Interment followed at the Sutton Cemetery in Sutton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later.
