Glenvil resident Marlyn Duane Fike, Sr., 83, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil, with Pastor Jonathan Jehorek officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Glenvil Cemetery in Glenvil. In honoring his wish to be cremated, there will not be a visitation or viewing. A time of fellowship will follow the graveside service at the Glenvil American Legion. Memorial contributions may be directed to Glenvil Fire & Rescue or to the family to be designated later. Condolences may be left at www. mclaughlinchapel.com Marlyn was born June 5, 1939, in Fairfield to Marion and Marie (Ocker) Fike. He received his education at Fairfield High School. On March 25, 1958, he married Alice Lynch at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil. Marlyn was employed as a farmer, was part owner of the Fairfield Implement and owner of Glenvil Irrigation. He also drove semitrucks until he was 80 years old.

Marlyn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil. He had 30 years of involvement with Old Trusty Days, enjoyed Tractor Pulling and the Plowing Bee’s.

Marlyn is survived by his wife, Alice; daughter, d’Aun and husband Nels Sorensen; sons, Duane and wife Sandy; Dennis and wife Tina; brother, Marion and wife Sondra; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

Marlyn was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Mike Cox.
