Mildred Pauline Jacobson, 94, long-time resident of Edgar, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Heritage Crossing in Geneva.

Mildred was born Oct. 4, 1928, in Centralia, KS, to LeRoy and Viola (Strong) Hyde. She attended elementary school in Sabetha, KS. Her family then moved to Clay Center where she completed her formal education attending high school. She was united in marriage with Burdon Jacobson April 16, 1949, in Marysville, KS. This union was blessed with two daughters, Kathy and Paula. Mildred was first and foremost a farm wife with all of the duties that it required. She worked at Louies Market in Ong and Central Market in Edgar as well as being an Avon representative for many years. Mildred also worked at various local nursing homes as a nursing assistant. After retiring she was employed with the Sugar Shack Candle Shop in the factory.

Mildred was a member of the Church of the Plains in Edgar and belonged to Liberty Belles Extension Club. She enjoyed family get togethers and spending time with her girls, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, LeRoy and Viola Hyde; her husband, Burdon; and brothers, Donald and Dewayne Hyde; in-laws, Max and Dot Jacobson; Loretta and LD Trantham, Curt and Marilyn Jacobson, Rogene and Elbert Hicks; Mary Jacobson and Ann Hyde.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kathy and Joe McReynolds and Paula and Dennis Hansen; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at the Church of the Plains in Edgar, with the Rev. Ethan Feistner officiating. Interment was at the Clay Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established by the family for later designation.
