A Celebration of Life for LaShara Nuss will be at the Giltner Community Center on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, from 1-5 p.m. The event will include a time for fellowship, a Memorial Service, and an opportunity to share cherished memories, with the Memorial Service at 3 p.m. A light meal will be served following the service. LaShara, daughter of Al Huffman and Laura Jean OConnor, was born on Nov. 24, 1954, in Grand Island and passed on Jan. 21, 2024. LaShara’s early life was spent in Cheyenne, WY, and Evergreen, CO. LaShara married Delbert ‘Butch’ Eugene Nuss on April 7, 1974, in Giltner. They have three sons: Casey, Ryan, and Cody.

LaShara’s passion for the arts, particularly at the Indian Reservation, reflected her love for creativity and cultural expression. Her dedication to education was evident in her long-standing history of research and the creation of educational classes at the Stuhr Museum. LaShara also brought joy and community spirit as the owner and manager of the Sit ‘N Bull Saloon.

As the entertainment director for the Log House, LaShara organized memorable events that brought people together. Some of these included coordinating the Mormon Trail to pass through Giltner, hosting a Mountain Men Camp in the back pasture, orchestrating a Solar Eclipse Party, and countless other gatherings that left lasting impressions.

LaShara was preceded in death by her father, husband, and two brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory include Casey Nuss and Michelle Haase, Ryan and Crystal Nuss, Cody and Roni Nuss; grandchildren: Reagan Smith, Hailey Haase, Jacob Haase, Landon Nuss, Sidney Voichahoske, Dylan Voichahoske, Owen Nuss, Jack Nuss, Annika Ward, and Ashton Ward; sisters, several nieces, nephews, many cousins, extended family, and countless friends!
