For the second year in a row, a Clay County school district has been honored as the top Career and Technical Education program in the state of Nebraska, as honored by the Nebraska Department of Education, during the annual NDE Career Education Conference, held at the Younes Conference Center in Kearney.
The South Central Nebraska Unified School District #5 Nebraska Center for Advanced Professional Studies program was honored during a special honors program early Tuesday afternoon as the outstanding secondary program in the State of Nebraska. Sutton’s program was honored as the top secondary program in 2018.
Receiving the honor on behalf of the SCNUSD program Tuesday was Dr. Stan Essink, District NCAPS Coordinator, Jason Searle, 6-12 Principal at Sandy Creek and Dana Epley, Pre Kindergarten through 12th grade Principal at Lawrence-Nelson.
