As the old story goes, when you put your mind to something, you can achieve goals with hard work, sheer guts and a not-to-be-denied attitude. Thursday, that is exactly what took place, as the Harvard girls track team headed to Sandy Creek High School for the C-9 District track and field meet. As the track portion of the meet kicked off, the Harvard girls 3,200 meter relay team, made up by Carleigh Novak, Kesley Griess, Cassie Roberts and Alyssa Novak, according to coach Scott Trimble, had the moxie to advance to the state track and field championships. They all new it would take a special effort to knock off, what many thought to be the favorites, either Hastings St. Cecilia or Doniphan-Trumbull.
