Sutton Downs SC Boys 57-42

Just nine days removed from their previous meeting, a game that Sutton would down Sandy Creek 54-50 on Jan. 29, the Mustangs and Cougars locked horns once again, this time in the consolation finals of the 2015 Southern Nebraska Conference tournament in Milford.

One could call the Sandy Creek Cougars the heart attack kids, as slow starts in each of their past two games, a 54-50 loss at Sutton and in the first round of the Southern Nebraska Conference tournament Feb. 5, would leave Cougar fans breathing heavy after the first quarter in each game

Mustang Wrestlers Win Warcat Invite

Sutton’s 220 pound wrestler Kane Majors earned top honors at the Warcat Invitational in Red Cloud Saturday by earning a 9-0 win over Thayer Central’s Ryan Koch. The win improved Majors to 25-10 on the year.

A pair of easy wins in Southern Nebraska Conference play would see the Sutton Fillies improve to 10-3 on the year. Sutton downed Thayer Central on the road 59-7, before blasting Tri County Saturday afternoon 64-28.
