With the help of two individual champions and four more runner-up titles, the Sutton Mustangs began the 2014-15 wrestling season as the runnerup in the team race during Saturday’s Harvard Invitational. They trailed only Shelton-Kenesaw, who would come from behind in the final round to edge Sutton 151-134 in the final standings. South Central Unified also ended their day with a pair of individual champions, which helped the Red Raiders to a third place finish in the 14 team meet. Sutton’s title runs were made by junior Ignacio Rivera and senior Tyler Bailey . Rivera would gain gold in the 106 pound class with a pair of wins, and earned the top spot with a 1:24 pin over Harvard’s Kale Fishler to top the class. Fishler would earn an earlier win to advance to the title match with Rivera and ultimately gain Harvard the first of two runner-up titles at their home meet.
