Wesley F. Schueler (Wes) went to be with our Lord, December 15, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Redding, California. Wes was born July 16, 1936, at rural Inland, Nebraska, to Rheinhold and Viola (Krug) Schueler. Wes worked in the oil fields as a young man, then later became a heavy equipment operator, working on various roads in Nebraska, including I-80. Wes and Opal later moved to California after living in Colorado. Wes married Opal Buschow Schueler, October,22 1971. They were together until  her passing, October 3, 2010. He and Opal loved going to Jazz festivals and traveling. Wes married Jennie Barkhoff, July 1,2012, in Clay Center, Nebraska. They lived in Mckinleyville until moving to Redding, California. Wes loved working with his 1925 Dodge Coupe that he and Opal totally restored to its original state. He loved his family very much and enjoyed going to church and hearing the choir sing! Wes is survived by his wife, Jennie; sister-in-law, ArVera Schueler; niece, Melonie Knight, (John); nephew, Kent Schueler; great niece, Elsa Knight; greatnephew, Joel Knight. Step children, Dean Buschow (Darlene); Leslie Buschow (Pat); Donald Buschow (Lan); Joann Schwartz, Lou; Christine Revallo (Mike); Eric Freitas (Diane); Wendy Ewing (Jeff); and numerous grandchildren and great-grand children and cousins. Wes was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, three brothers David, Karl and Duane, and his wife of 40 years, Opal.Wes was very much loved and  will be missed by all who knew him. Services will be held at the Redding First United Methodist Church at 1825 East Street, at 1 p.m., Saturday January 10, and on Saturday, January 17, at the Church Of The Joyful Healer at 1944 Central Ave.,Mckinleyville, California at 3 p.m. There will also be a service held Saturday, May 16, at the United Church of Christ in Clay Center, Nebraska, at 10:30 a.m.. Memorial gifts may be made to the churches; Redding First United Methodist and The Church Of The Joyful Healer.
