Hastings resident Paul David Becker, 88, passed away Fri., April 3, 2015, at Homestead Assisted Living, Hastings, NE. Memorial services will be held Mon., May 11, 2015, 2 p.m., at Butler Volland Chapel, 1225 North Elm Ave., Hastings, with Pastor Charles M. Webster officiating. A private burial will be in Sutton Cemetery, Sutton. Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church of Hastings. There no viewing or visitation. Private condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family. Paul was born July 30, 1926, in Shickley, NE, to David and Marie (Scheierman) Becker. He married Anna Ulmer on Aug. 15, 1945, she preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 1977. Paul married Goldine Hall on Nov. 3, 1979, she preceded him in death on Sept. 23, 2013. He was an area farmer for many years until he retired. Paul was an honorary Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska, a member of First Presbyterian Church and past member of the Eagles. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Anna Becker and Goldine Becker; infant daughter, Diane Kay Becker; sister, Matilda Remick; two brothers, Harold Becker and Benjamin Becker; and step-daughter, Patricia Rosner. Survivors: Daughters: Rita (Steven) Moya of Santa Barbara, CA; Janis (Kurt) Phares of Irvine, CA. Grandchildren: Sara (David) Towe of Dallas, TX; Kendra Phares of Grapevine, TX. Brother: Walter Becker of Sutton, NE. Step-children: Terry (Linda) Hall of Hastings, NE; Debbie (John) Piel of Arvada, CO. Step-grandchildren: Christen Hall, Patrick (Michele) Hall, Jeffrey Hall, Ryan (Chloe) Piel, Tim (Lindsay) Piel, Michelle Sass (Bridget Roy), Deanna (Travis) Jones. Step-great-grandchildren: Rachael, Joseph, Tyler, Lilly, Emma, Samantha, Brock, Riley, Kolton and Isla. Numerous nieces and nephews.
