Sutton Town Hall meeting covers downtown survey

Sutton’s City Administrator, Jeff Hofaker, as well as guest speakers Sharon Hueftle and Kelly Gewecke discussed the results from the downtown revitalization survey and ways to help fund any projects.

Results from the survey included Sutton’s demographics, areas of needed improvement downtown, and facts about those who reside in the town.

Those participating in the survey included 14 downtown business owners, six business owners not downtown, and 54 general residents.

Currently, 73 percent of Sutton is residential, while 18.9 percent is downtown business owners, while another 8.1 percent is business owners not downtown.

With many of the businesses stationed downtown, it has become an area of interest to be enhanced. Positive parts of downtown include its historical value and facades (50.8 percent said this); 16.4 percent said the convenience of shopping; and adequate parking came at 7.5 percent.
