Sex trafficking an issue in Nebraska’s Heartland

Whether it’s ignorance or simply dismissing the facts, many people believe that sex trafficking doesn’t happen in their area.

Meghan Malik, Trafficking Project Manager at Women’s Fund of Omaha, said that’s one major misconception people have about sex trafficking.

“It does happen here, in our backyards, in our back pockets with cell phones; no zip code is immune,” she said.
