Bailey Wins Gold at Wood River Invitational

Cougars at 2-4 After Second Week

The Sandy Creek boys, with their 61-54 win over Centennial Dec. 11, combined with losses to Adams Central Dec. 9 and Friend Saturday night, are 2-4 on the season. A heavy dose of David Bohlen and Evan Lindblad, who accounted for 27 of the Patriots’ 73 points, would see Adams Central roll to a 73-46 win over the Cougars, Dec. 9. The Cougars fell to 1-3 with the loss. Bohlen would hit for 17 points and Lindblad, 11, in the win over the Cougars. Sandy Creek, offensively, was led by John Sock’s 11 points in the loss.

Johnson Shatters Record Book

Sutton senior Noah Johnson, behind a total of 2,892 yards, led all of Nebraska in rushing and finished his career 11th on the national charts. He broke one state record in Class C-2 and set a total of 11 school records, helping the Mustangs to a 9-1 record and a final ranking of sixth in Class C-2. -CCN File
