Baby steps could very well be the way Sutton golf coach Randy Ahrens looks at the past three seasons for the Sutton Mustang’s program, as in each of the past two seasons Ahrens has taken one of his players to the Class C state golf championships, Jadyn Friesen as a freshman in 2022, and Harrison Hernson, last season, as a sophomore.

Senior Logan Sanders and junior Connor Rempe paced the Sandy Creek boys golf team in action on their home course, the Crooked Creek Country Club in Clay Center, as the Cougars finished third overall in the 14-team tournament, Tuesday, April 16.

Friesen medals at Lincoln Lutheran meet April 18
Sutton junior Jadyn Friesen, the lone golfer for the Sutton squad in action at Lincoln Lutheran earned his third straight medal at the annual tournament, as Friesen placed 11th overall in action that had to deal with rough weather conditions.
