Clarence Marion Baldridge, 78, entered into rest Oct. 12, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln. Clarence was born Nov. 16, 1938, in Belleville, KS, to Irma (Moe) and Earl Baldridge. He grew up on a farm south of Belleville and helped with farming and the family egg hatchery. Clarence graduated from Belleville High School in 1956. He then started his own combining business, Custom Harvesting. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Baldridge of Ashland; children, Robert Baldridge, Lincoln; Lorita Zohn (Rodney) of Norway, KS; Ron Baldridge (Ann) of Clay Center; Lea Little of Iverness, IL; Rae Stanley (Scott) of Lincoln; Vicki Vest of Ashland; George Jarrett of Scranton, AR and Lisa Miller (Nick) of Ashland; and sister, Ruth Meyer (Mick) of Lincolnville, KS, 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Clarence’s passion was the trucking industry.

Robert E. “Bob” Nabb, 93, a longtime resident of Fort Morgan, CO, passed away Oct. 13, at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. Bob was born Jan. 1, 1924, to Joseph and Ruth (Kitzinger) Nabb of Clay Center. He was raised on the farm and attended school in Clay Center, graduating from Clay Center High School in 1941. He met Dorothy Mark in Denver and they were married Feb. 16, 1943. They lived in Trinidad and Fort Collins during the 1940s. They moved to Nebraska and lived in Fairbury during the 1950s. Bob was employed in the Hatchery and Feed business. They moved to Fort Morgan in 1961. Bob was employed by the M & S Feed and Seed Company for five years. He worked for Farmland COOP of Brush for 22 1/2 years, retiring Sept. 1, 1988. Bob served as an assistant Scout Master. He served on the city council and as Mayor of Log Lane Village from 1972 through 1980. He is a member of the United Methodist Church.

Patrick Larry Tolle was born at Rangely, CO, on Aug. 21, 1946, to Elzora (Adams) and Dale Tolle. His father worked in the oil field near Rangely and in 1950, the family moved to Clay Center and later to Edgar. Pat attended school in Edgar and graduated with the class of 1964. He worked for a short time at a farm dealership in Edgar. Pat served with the United States Army from December 1965 until his discharge from service in December 1967. He continued his formal education by attending North Eastern Jr. College at Sterling, CO, for two years, the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley for four years, receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree and Emporia State University for three years in Denver, where he earned his Master’s Degree. While attending EmporiaCollege he was united in marriage with Margaret “Tolle.” Pat had been in the construction business with partner Richard Graff.

Glenvil resident, Ilene Joyce (Tjarks) Gerdes, 89, passed away Monday, Sept.  25, at her home surrounded by her children. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 2, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil with Rev. Rob Garton officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation was Sunday, from 1–8 p.m., with the family present from 3–7 p.m., at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Clay Center. Memorial contributions may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Glenvil Ambulance. Condolences may be left at www.mclaughlinchapel.com. Ilene was born Aug. 14, 1928, to George and Dena (Kahman) Tjarks near Glenvil, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil. She received her education at Willowdale rural school and graduated from Glenvil High School.
