DCB ends Post #61 Seniors season at C-5 District tourney

Article Image Alt Text

After watching on as Sutton pitcher Will Reeson fired a 5-0 no hit win over PWG, the Sutton Post #61 Senior Legion baseball team found themselves in a must win game to reach the finals of the C-5 District baseball tournament in Boelus.

Sutton would need to rebound from an opening round 3-2 loss to St. Paul to reach the finals against tournament hosts Dannebrog-Cairo-Boelus (DCB), and that the Sutton crew did in high flying fashion as Sutton earned the finals bid with a 16-8 win in the opening game on Tuesday, July 23.

It would be, however, a tough nightcap loss. A 2-1 loss to DCB would end the Sutton crew’s season with a 21-12 record.

In the win over St. Paul, the Post #61 bats were lively, recording 10 total hits, led by three singles from Garrett Bonnell.
