Addie Dyer, 79, of Aurora, passed away on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, at her home.

A Memorial Service for Bruce and Addie will be at the United Methodist Church of Aurora on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, at 11 a.m. Pastor Greg Reed will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made in care of the family to designate at a later date. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Addie Marie Dyer, the daughter of Fred and Shirley (Frost) Johnson, was born at Lamar, CO, on Jan. 26, 1942, and passed away at Aurora, Nov. 15, 2021, at the age of 79.

Private family burial will be held at a later date at the Harvard Cemetery in Harvard. There will be no viewing or visitation. Pauline Faye Knutson, 78, of Fairfield, died Oct. 29, 2021. Pauline was born July 16, 1943, in Gothenburg, the daughter of Lawrence and Mabel McCance.

Pauline is survived by her husband, James (Jim); son, Donald Benham of Lexington; daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Lopez of Lincoln; son-in-law, Anthony (Tony) Lopez of Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Connie Benham of Perry, OK; brother, Larry McCance of Hastings; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; son, Melvin Benham; brother, Roy McCance; sisters, Carol Wolfe and Darlene Payne; and daughter-in-law, Teri Benham.

Graveside service and burial will take place at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021. Service and burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell.

Marjorie Ann Grossman

Marjorie Ann Grossman was born November 29, 1940 in Clay Center. She passed away on Oct. 10, 2021 at Cedar Lake Village in Olathe, KS.

As a young girl, she lived on the family farm near Clay Center where she was baptized Dec. 29, 1940, at the Zion Lutheran Church. Later the family relocated to the farm near Edgar. She married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Lynn Grossman, on March 29, 1959, in Clay Center at Zion Lutheran Church. She and Lynn attended rival high schools, she went to Edgar High School and Lynn attended Nelson High School.

Former Sutton resident Marian Darlene Griess, 83, passed away Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at York General Hearthstone in York.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, with the Free German Reformed Salem Church Elders officiating. Interment will follow at the Free German Reformed Salem Church Cemetery near Sutton. Visitation will be Thursday, from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m., with the family present from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel. Marian was born Nov. 3, 1937, in Fillmore County NE., to William D. and Sarah C. (Griess) Bauer. She received her education in Geneva. On May 24, 1956, she married Walter Griess in Clay Center. She was a homemaker and loved to garden and crochet.

Richard Kleinschmidt

Richard Kleinschmidt was born to Harold and Agnes (Kamler) Kleinschmidt on Jan. 4, 1935, at Sutton and lived a hardworking and beautiful life. He passed away Sept. 2, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln at the age of 86 years, 9 months, and 22 days.

Richard attended Shickley Public School graduating with the class of 1952. He had offers to play sports in college, but the lure of the family farm brought him back home.

The start of his family began with letters during his time in the Army at Fort Bliss as he called it (Fort Blister) serving his country from 1957-1959. Those letters led to a beautiful, Godly marriage to Rosalie Novak beginning on Sept. 20, 1960. Their marriage brought their two sons Russ and Rick into the picture through adoption and they both chose incredible wives, Jodi and Bridget. Richard also had seven grandchildren who gave him so much pride and joy through their academic, musical, and sporting accomplishments.

MaryLou Farley

MaryLou Susan Farley, 69, of Sutton, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at home, prior to transport to Henderson Heath Care Services.

MaryLou was born July 28, 1952, at Fort Benning, GA, the daughter of Glenn C. and Rosa G. (Asanger) Wetzel. She graduated with the class of 1970 from Junction City High School. In the fall of 2004, she completed courses for Phlebotomy at United Methodist in Omaha.

She was married to Donald L. Farley on May 28, 1971, in Manhattan, KS. He preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 2004.

She was also proceeded in death by her parents and brother, George Wetzel.
