Former Clay Center, NE, resident Helen Emma Schroder, 95, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at the P.E.O. Home in Beatrice, NE.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at the United Church of Christ in Clay Center, NE, with the Rev. Kathryn Bates officiating. Visitation was one hour before service time. Burial followed at the Clay Center Cemetery, with military rites by The American Legion Mills–Schroder #87, Clay Center, NE.

Memorials may be given to the family to be designated later.

Helen Emma Schroder was born Dec. 26, 1921, in Clay Center, NE, to Samuel W. Moger and Florence (Smith) Moger. She received her education at Clay Center schools. She attended the P. E. O. Cottey College for one year. She enlisted in the US Navy in 1945, and married Jack Schroder in San Diego, CA.

Glenn LeRoy Snell, age 84 of Edgar, NE, departed this life on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, NE.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Edgar, NE; daughters: Pamela Snell of Lincoln, NE; Virginia Drennen and husband, Mike of Edgar, NE; two grandsons, William and Dylan Drennen, both of Edgar, NE; sister, Genevieve Blau of Deshler, NE; brothers, Ernest Snell of Sutton, NE and Raymond Snell of Hastings.

Funeral services were held Friday, 11 a.m., Dec. 23, 2016, at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Edgar, NE. Words of comfort by Pastor David King. Burial was held in the Edgar Cemetery.

Jan. 9, 1941 - Dec. 20, 2016

Harvard resident and former Bladen resident JoAnn Lindhardt passed away Dec. 20, 2016, at Harvard Rest Haven.

Services were Friday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m., at the Harvard United Church of Christ, with Pastor Dave Johnson officiating. JoAnn will be cremated and burial will be at Wyuka cemetery in Lincoln, NE, at a later date. Murray Wilson Funeral Directing is in charge of arrangements.

June 2, 1951 - Dec. 20, 2016

LeAnn Lynn Michel, age 65, of Lincoln, formerly of Edgar, NE, passed away on Dec. 20, 2016, in Lincoln after a courageous battle with ALS. She was born on June 2, 1951, in Hastings to Harry and Gladys(Skinner) Mills.

LeAnn married Ron Michel on Sept. 26, 1970, in Edgar. She graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1969, and went on to graduate from Central Nebraska Tech in Hastings. LeAnn worked in insurance for over 35 years, first in Edgar and then in Lincoln. LeAnn loved working in the yard and took great pride in her flower gardens. She became a Master Gardener and volunteered countless hours through various organizations.

Clay Center, NE resident, Lisa Joy Dubas, 61, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, NE.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sutton, NE, with Rev. Kris Schroeder officiating. Interment followed at the Clay Center Cemetery in Clay Center, NE. Visitation was Thursday from 1-8 p.m., with the family present from 5-7 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, NE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Clay Center Fire and Rescue Departments or the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sutton, NE.

Jack F. White, the son of Harold Freeman and Lena (Brubeck) White, was born March 10, 1941, at Edgar, NE. He departed this life on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, NE, at the age of 75 years.

Sutton, NE, resident, Teri L. Sharkey, 56, passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at the Henderson Health Care Hospital in Henderson, NE.

Rosary was held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sutton, NE. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sutton, NE, with Father William Holoubek officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Grafton, NE. Visitation was Tuesday, from 1-4 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, NE.

Teri Lynn Sharkey was born Feb. 18, 1960, in Henderson, NE, the daughter of Delbert and Delores (Hicks) Mohnike. She graduated from Sutton High School with the class of 1978. On Jan. 6, 1979, she married John Sharkey.

Marjorie Swearingen, 89, of Hastings, formerly of Deweese, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, in Hastings. Funeral Services were 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Pastor Dean Pofahl officiated. Interment followed at the Elm Creek Cemetery. Visitation was from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney and one hour prior to the service.

Dale Arthur Mau, age 88, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016. Dale had been residing at Blue Hill Care Center in Blue Hill, NE, prior to his passing. He passed away at Mary Lanning Healthcare as the result of cancer. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Dale spent most of his life in the Sutton/Juniata area. He was a farmer and a veteran. Dale served in the Army as a Private First Class and was deployed in the Korean War. He earned a United Nations Service Metal and Korean Service Medal. Dale was a member of the American Legion in Sutton for 64 years and a member of the Eagles for 20 years.
