Sutton will soon be the home of a first of its kind in Clay County, as members of the Sutton City Council approved the purchase of a new four-legged addition to the City of Sutton police force.
K9 Falco, as he is known, is a male German shepherd, born in March of 2015, that will be added to the city police force at a cost of $9,000, which includes a $5,000 deposit for the canine, as well as a $4,000 fee due at least seven days prior to delivery of the specially trained dog.
K9 Falco, according to the contract presented to the city council members, is trained in both patrol and narcotics, to help assist the Sutton police. He will come with a two-year guarantee against any congenital defects, effective from the date of purchase.
