John (Jackie) Willis Eliason, age 68, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away October 7, 2014. He was born on November 7, 1945, to John E. and Rita (Swanson) Eliason of Sutton, Nebraska. “Papa Jack” loving father and grandfather – always in our hearts and in our thoughts, will be eternally missed by all who knew him. Jackie graduated from Sutton High School in 1964 and attended Kearney State College, where he was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. Following college, he entered the army, where he was stationed in Germany. He married Jolene Ernst and later divorced. To this union, his son, Jade, was born. He relocated to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, in 1980, where he was a sheet metal fabricator/ engineer. Jackie was employed by Mercury A/C and Heating. He is survived by his son, Jade W. Eliason and wife, Jamie, of Santa Barbara, California; and grandchildren Tessa, Tanner and Alice, his brother, William of Topeka, Kansas, and sister Roxann Baumann of Grafton, Nebraska.

Former Sutton resident, Harlan Glenn Syring, 84, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014, at The Independence House at Coddington in Lincoln, NE. Funeral services were 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sutton, NE, with Rev. Judy Nuss offi ciating. Interment will follow at the Sutton Cemetery in Sutton, NE, with military honors by the American Legion Argonne Post #61, Sutton, NE. Visitation was Tuesday, November 11, 2014, from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m., with the family present from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, NE.
