Mary E. Bohling Crumbliss July 16, 1936 - May 17, 2018

Mary Elise Bohling Crumbliss was born July 16, 1936, in Clay Center to Helen and Wendall Bohling. She passed away May 17, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva. Mary graduated from Hastings High School and from Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she was a member of the Willard Sorority. She taught at Hastings Junior High and Edgar High School. She was a devoted member of the Church of the Plains and very active in the Central NE Presbytery. Mary was a member of Chapter AA PEO and Eastern Star Chapter 268. She was a volunteer EMT for many years, as well as many countless hours spent volunteering her time to the community. Her true passions were spending time with her grandchildren and being a farmer’s wife while helping around her family’s farm.

Leon A. Ginn Aug. 10, 1955 - May 18, 2018

Trumbull resident, Leon A. Ginn, 62, passed away Friday, May 18, at CHI St. Francis Medical Center, Grand Island. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings, with Pastor Martin Leeper officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Trumbull. Memorials may be given to the Leon A. Ginn Memorial Fund. Visitation is 1-7 p.m., with family present 5-7 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Private condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family. Leon was born Aug. 10, 1955, in Superior, to Eugene L. and Wilta “Darlene” (Lyons) Ginn. He was raised in the Clay County area, graduated from Trumbull High School in 1973 and attended CCC. Leon married Shirley M. Clark on March 23, 1975, in the Trumbull United Methodist Church, Trumbull. They were married for 43 years.

Gary L. Krause Sept. 5, 1960 - May 5, 2018

Gary Lee “Hank” Krause, 57, passed away Saturday, May 5, at his home near Deweese. Mass of Christian Burial was conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sutton with Father Michael Zimmer officiating. Interment followed at Union Cemetery, 2244 Rd 3300 near Deweese. Casual attire - “come as you are” - per Hank’s request. Visitation was Tuesday, from 1-8 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Condolences may be left at www.suttonmemorial.com.  Gary “Hank” Krause was born Sept. 5, 1960, in Hebron; to Lolan and Jean (Erthum) Krause. He received his education at Sutton Public School. On March 15, 1980, he married Connie Ebert. Two daughters and a son were born to them; Jason Lee, Jami Sue and Jenny Lyn. He served a number of years on the Sutton Volunteer Fire Department.

Michael K. Eastin Feb. 2, 1953 - April 30, 2018

Clay Center resident Michael “Mike” K. Eastin, 65, passed away Monday, April 30, at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln. Gathering of friends and family will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, May 10, at Clay Center Senior Center, 118 S. Alexander Ave., Clay Center, lunch will be served. In honoring his wish for cremation there is no viewing or visitation. DeWitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Hastings is handling arrangements. Eastin was born Feb. 2, 1953, in Ogallala; the son, of Clifton and Betty (Colson) Eastin. He graduated from Clay Center High School with the class of 1971. Mike received his undergraduate from Colorado Mesa University in 1986 and masters from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1988. He married Laurie Westing on June 21, 1975, in Clay Center.

Jane M. Taylor Aug. 17, 1918 - April 30, 2018

Clay Center resident Jane Marie Taylor, 99, passed away Monday, April 30, at the Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 4, at the United Church of Christ in Clay Center with Rev. Kathryn Bates officiating. Interment followed at the Clay Center Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday, from 1–8 p.m., with the family present from 5–8 p.m., at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Clay Center. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later. Condolences may be left at www.mclaughlinchapel.com.  Jane was the second child born to William E. and Constante H. (McCune) Herndon on Aug. 17, 1918, at Baker City, OR. At the age of 3, they moved to Toledo, WA; and a year later to Saline County, where her father took over the Herndon family farm. This is where she grew up.
