Fairfield resident Charlene G. Hessling, 70, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, at her home.

Memorial services will be at a later date in Michigan. Charlene was born Oct. 29, 1947, in Grand Rapids, MI, to Charles Hardy and Wilma J. Berry. She graduated from Godwin Heights High School in Wyoming, MI, and received an associates degree in accounting from Grand Rapids Junior College in Grand Rapids, MI. Charlene was a homemaker and member of Church of Latter Day Saints in Hastings.

Rodney L. Shaw

Rodney L. Shaw, of Nelson, the son of Ward and Betty Dunkle Shaw was born Aug. 3, 1951, at Deshler. He departed this life on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior at the age of 67 years.

Rodney attended Pleasant View School north of Nelson through sixth grade and then attended Edgar Public School until Sandy Creek was established where he graduated in 1969.

Growing up Rodney had many interests. He was an active member of the high school band, drama club, as well as the football team.

Fairfield resident Eldon Arnold Tibben, 93, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton,.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, at Zion Lutheran Church in Shickley, with Rev. James Moll officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairfield Cemetery in Fairfield. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later.

Eldon Arnold Tibben, son of George and Laura (Reimers) Tibben, was born on Nov. 1, 1924. He was baptized as an infant and belonged to St. John’s Lutheran Church east of Exira, IA. He attended country school through the eighth grade and then attended St. John’s Lutheran School for a year of catechism. He was confirmed on April 3, 1938.

Hastings resident June E. Doyen, 70, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Broken Bow Care and Rehabilitation Center, Broken Bow.

Services were 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Chaplain Monica Harvey officiating. Burial was 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell.

Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Visitation was Monday 5-8 p.m. with family present 5-6 p.m., and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
