Tommy Lee White (Tom) of Cawker City, KS passed away Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024, at the age of 86. Tom was born Oct. 10, 1937, in Walsenburg, CO and lived in Riverton and Sutton, before settling in Cawker City. Tom was proceeded in death by his beloved mother, Violet Reams White, and father, Leroy White; eight brothers and sisters, Daniel, Jack, Violet, Beula, Gladis, Roy, Madge, and Hazel. Tom is survived by his five children, Debbie (Ron) Seifried of Colorado, Peggy White of Colorado, Steven White of Kansas, Micheal (Beverly) White of Idaho, and Tommy White of Nebraska; two stepchildren, Pam Woodard and Dennis White, both of Nebraska; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, a countless number of close nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Tom enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and watching football. He was a man of many grand adventures and great stories who will be missed by everyone who got the pleasure of knowing him.

Clay Center resident Harold E. Hansen, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, Jan. 22, 2024, at his home in Clay Center.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at the Clay Center Christian Church in Clay Center, with Pastor Chad Ferguson officiating. Private interment took place Monday, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell. Harold was born in Fairbury July 15, 1935, to Edward A. Hansen and Lillie L. (Brinkman) Hansen. Harold spent his first few years living with his family in Helvey, and Palmyra. They later moved to Clay Center.

A Celebration of Life for LaShara Nuss will be at the Giltner Community Center on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, from 1-5 p.m. The event will include a time for fellowship, a Memorial Service, and an opportunity to share cherished memories, with the Memorial Service at 3 p.m. A light meal will be served following the service. LaShara, daughter of Al Huffman and Laura Jean OConnor, was born on Nov. 24, 1954, in Grand Island and passed on Jan. 21, 2024. LaShara’s early life was spent in Cheyenne, WY, and Evergreen, CO. LaShara married Delbert ‘Butch’ Eugene Nuss on April 7, 1974, in Giltner. They have three sons: Casey, Ryan, and Cody.

Sutton resident Jose Felipe Flores, 76, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, at his home near Harvard.

A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sutton. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at the Church with Father Craig Clinch officiating. Interment will follow at the Sutton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, one hour prior to the Rosary at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later. Jose was born to Gumecinda Noyola Ramos and Dolores Flores Garcia on May 1, 1947, in Corral Quemado, Sanciro De Acosta, San Luis Potosí Mx. He was a resident of Sutton since 1989.

He is preceded by Maria Flores Hernandez, his wife, and Marianita Flores, his daughter.

Sutton resident Don Nuss, 91, passed away Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, at the Henderson Health Care Hospital in Henderson.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, with the Free German Reformed Salem Church Elders officiating. Interment followed at the Free German Reformed Salem Church Cemetery near Sutton. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later. Condolences may be left at www. suttonmemorial.com. Don Nuss was born May 13, 1932, and after living 91 years he passed away peacefully on Jan. 21, 2024. He was born at home on the family farm in Clay County, NE to Hilmer and Hilda Nuss. Don attended District 8 school in Clay County, where he finished the eighth grade and then went home and worked on the family farm. Other than working on the farm, he also worked for a time at Bauman’s Station in Grafton.

Sutton resident Ronald Roy Bauer, 85, passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, at Bryan Medical Center West Campus in Lincoln.

Ronald’s wishes were to be cremated and no local services will be conducted.
