Finally, after a year away from the golf course, the Sandy Creek boys golf team hit the links on Thursday, April 1, and they hit it hot, running away with the Superior Invitational, outscoring second-place Heartland by 29 strokes, 356-385.
Sandy Creek was paced by the senior trio of Tobey Turman, Rodney McDonald, and Derek Story, as that trio finished second, third and fourth, respectively, to help the Cougars easily win the tournament at the Superior Country Club.
Turman trailed only Kody Head of Fillmore Central in the tournament, as Head edged Turman by one stroke in the final standings, with Head carding an 84 and Turman an 85.
