It all began in June of 2013, when voters within the City of Sutton passed a continuation of an existing one-percent sales tax, authorizing the State of Nebraska to continue to impose the sales tax upon residents within the City of Sutton. The purpose of the sales tax, as approved by voters, is to provide funding to construct recreational facilities within the city limits of Sutton. In that vote, Sutton voters approved the measure by 45 votes, or 54.2 percent of the vote, to continue with the one-percent sales tax.

County Clerk Deb Karnatz has received, or heard talk of,  letters stating people should obtain a copy of a current  grant deed and property assessment profile, which cost a  grand total of $83. December 2014, was the first time she’d seen a letter  uch as this, and did not think  much of it until it arose again this year. The address on the  letter: RECORD TRANSFER  SERVICES, 3835 E ThousandOaks Blvd Suite 78, Westlake  Village, CA 91362, is a real address,but is not affiliated with the company placed there.
