Lang Honored with Outstanding Service Award by CCC-Hastings

Brad Lang of Hastings has received the 31st Annual Outstanding Service Award at Central Community College- Hastings. The award is presented annually to a Hastings Campus employee who demonstrates exemplary service to the college. Lang has been an agribusinessinstructor at CCC since 1989.

Hundreds of brightly colored Christmas wrapping paper rolls are piled on tables. Busy hands use them to wrap numerous presents—ranging from toys to clothes—making sure every inch of the present is covered. Children, students and community members, althoughfocused on the task at hand, chat with one another, smiling as they fulfill the night’s purpose. A feeling of holiday cheer is in the air as a county gathers to deliver the ultimate gift—giving back.

Harvard One-Act Fourth at State Play Production

Just one week after winning the C2-4 District Play Production competition in front of their hometown crowd, the cast of Harvard’s production of “OZ” would venture into state play production competion held at the Johnny Carson Theatre in Norfolk.The cast would kickoff the Class C-2 competition at state Thursday, Dec. 11, with an  8:30 a.m. curtain call. Five other casts would follow Harvard before the final numbers would be announced.

Andersen Livens Up Christmas Spirit

For 50 years, Gene Andersen has greeted visitors and shoppers to his Nut House in Ong. Up until 2000, Andersen also sold home grown Christmas trees. Today, he continues to sell nuts, veggies and an assortment of other goodies.
